United CEO Richard Arnold met with fans last weekend after discovering they were planning a protest, with Ed Woodward's successor talking transfers and club strategy.
Arnold also held a meeting with former CEO David Gill this week, in a sign that he wants to strike up a close relationship with a figure still highly thought of at Old Trafford.
The Reds are continuing to work on transfers, with Christian Eriksen, Frenkie de Jong and Antony all remaining on the club's shopping list.
