The 34-year-old has missed eight of United's last nine games and he withdrew from the squad to face AC Milan at late notice this week, telling Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he didn't feel up to playing.
There has been some frustration at Cavani's refusal to feature recently, despite being passed fit by medical staff, and Solskjaer has previously revealed that the forward likes to "train really hard before he plays".
