It is understood discussions have been held over a season-long loan but a permanent transfer has not been ruled out. The Manchester Evening News revealed this week Newcastle were still interested in Henderson amid plans to enhance their squad for next season.
Newcastle were in discussions to sign Henderson on loan on deadline day in January but the move collapsed when incumbent first choice Martin Dubravka rejected a move to United in a proposed swap deal.
Ajax were interested in signing Henderson on loan in the January transfer window but new United manager Erik ten Hag appears to have decided to retain David de Gea as United’s No.1 goalkeeper.
