Manchester United supporter group The 1958 have vowed to continue to protest against the Glazers, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe having agreed a deal to acquire a minority stake in the club.

The announcement of Ratcliffe's investment came on Christmas Eve and the deal, which is around £1.25bn for 25 per cent of shares, has guaranteed him control of football operations.

Sources have indicated there will be sweeping changes made and the appointment of Omar Berrada as CEO from Manchester City has been widely considered a coup.

Ratcliffe and INEOS are set to appoint their own sporting director and although The 1958, who have led the fight against the Glazers in recent seasons, acknowledge the future should be brighter with the British billionaire involved, they have vowed to continue their protests.
