The teenager, along with Manchester City’s Phil Foden, was found to have broken strict rules which forbade England squad members from having guests at their hotel rooms in Reykjavik, the country’s capital.

Greenwood, 18, has today issued an apologetic statement, describing himself as “irresponsible”, while expressing remorse for the “embarrassment I have caused.”The pair were cut from England’s travelling squad ahead of this evening’s UEFA Nations League clash with Denmark.
