Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United halted their three-game winless run in the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Brentford at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
Marcus Rashford netted the only goal of the game shortly before the half-hour mark, scoring United's first league goal since Jadon Sancho put the gloss on a 3-0 triumph over Leicester City on February 19.
Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United, not least the manner of it, meant the Reds were under intense pressure to arrest their recent wobble and climb back into the top four.
Although Erik ten Hag's side successfully achieved that mission, they are only three points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, meaning they can ill-afford to take their foot off the pedal as the race for Champions League qualification intensifies.
