Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada offers Old Trafford regeneration update

Chief executive Omar Berrada has said Manchester United will analyse their options 'in the upcoming year' amid their plans to regenerate Old Trafford.

United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe enlisted Lord Sebastian Coe and Gary Neville to join a task force back in March and the group has been exploring options to regenerate Old Trafford since.

The group first met in April and progress has been made with Ratcliffe's preference to build a brand-new stadium. Sources indicated earlier this year that the task force hoped to conclude their findings by the end of 2024. Fifty-two per cent of those who participated said they are in favour of a new stadium being constructed. Issuing a fresh update on the landscape of the situation, Berrada has confirmed the task force is still conducting its investigation and it will not be until that is complete that United will then consider their plans. "Our renovation of the Carrington Training Centre is progressing well, while the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force continues its work," said Berrada. "Once it has delivered its recommendations, we will then take some time to digest them and evaluate all our options in the upcoming year."
