A widespread Microsoft Windows glitch has wreaked havoc at key airports worldwide, including Manchester Airport. The problem, which has triggered the infamous 'blue screen of death' on computers running the affected software, has also impacted banks, telecom companies, broadcasters and supermarkets across the globe.
Social media has been littered with travellers sharing frustration over delays and disruptions at airports due to the IT meltdown.
Ryanair has alerted its customers about a 'disruption across the network due to a global third party IT outage', recommending passengers should get to the airport at least three hours before their flight time.
Although many travellers have taken to expressing their anger online with claims of disruption, Manchester Airport has said that as it stands 'the advice to passengers is to prepare to travel as usual'.
