BBC Two’s Race Across The World returns for its second series on Sunday evening with a whole new cast of adventure-seekers. Five pairs of Brits take on the challenge to be the quickest to travel from Mexico City, to the most southerly city in the world, Ushuaia in Argentina - but without taking a single flight, without a smartphone, and without a credit/debit card - armed only with the cash equivalent of a one-way airfare.
Well-travelled mum Jo, a 54-year-old physiotherapist from Manchester, decided to take part in the new series to regain her zest for life.
She wanted to take the trip with her 19-year-old son, Sam, who is a landscape gardener, 'to help him grow and see how the world works.' The teams must pass through seven checkpoints
