It's not everyday you spot a man with a parrot on his shoulder driving on the motorway. But that's exactly what happened when police noticed a driver with an unusual animal in his vehicle on the M62.
The man reportedly had an African Grey Parrot on his shoulder, which police say could have interfered with his ability to drive safely.
While the parrot itself was not in any trouble, the driver was issued a Traffic Offence Report (TOR). Writing on social media, North West Motorway Police said: "Not sure whether to use the term driver or pirate for this post.
