Man with local accent wanted by police for assault and robbery in West Lothian shop

Sign up to the weekly West Lothian Courier newsletter for the latest West Lothian news and sport.Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a shop in Bathgate.The incident happened at Dairy Newsagents on Cochrane Street around 11.30am on Sunday, January 24.A man entered the shop and threatened a staff member with a hammer.

He then assaulted the male member of staff by punching him repeatedly to the head before making off with a three figure sum of cash.The man is described as white, tall, slim, wearing dark clothing and had on a black scarf or similar covering the lower half of his face.
