A disqualified driver threatened a woman and her family and then led police on a dangerous 17-mile pursuit. Police told the M.E.N.
Ashley Wright, from Oldham, reached speeds of 80 mph in a 30mph built-up area as he desperately tried to shake off chasing officers.
Rolling road blocks and armed police were deployed in a bid to catch him. When police finally stopped his Audi A3 and dragged him from the vehicle they discovered an axe, a baton, a knuckle duster, two mobile phones and a large quantity of cannabis inside it.
