A man who 'died for three minutes' has shared his extraordinary experience of what he believes he saw on the other side after making an unexpected recovery.

Speaking on behalf of his friend, a man detailed how his mate overdosed on drugs and suffered a stroke as a result.He was officially declared dead for just under three minutes in the ambulance en route to the hospital.

The emergency team witnessed his heart flatline and didn't anticipate it would start beating again, even with their help.However, against all odds, it did.

Sharing his story on Reddit, he said: "He remembers the stroke, and being wheeled to the ambulance on a stretcher. Then he felt like he was floating under ice cold water, and it was dark, but he wasn't really thinking or feeling anything emotionally, just existing and knowing it was very very cold and he couldn't see.
