Sunday’s Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool was postponed following huge protests from the home side’s fans against the Glazer’s ownership of the club.
With the teams unable to leave their hotels and travel to the stadium, coupled with fans gaining access to the Old Trafford pitch, the decision was made to call off the game.
The Premier League statement confirmed that 'the rearrangement of the fixture will be communicated in due course’. However, with less than a month of the season remaining, rescheduling the fixture is likely to provide the authorities with a headache.
