Manchester United are eyeing up an ambitious move to sign talented Sweden midfielder Hugo Larsson, as Ruben Amorim tries to rebuild his ageing midfield.
United are expected to offload Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, who both turn 33 this month, this summer. Brazil star Casemiro has started just four matches since Amorim became their new permanent manager, while Denmark ace Eriksen has played just 396 minutes across that period.
In an attempt to replace Casemiro and Eriksen should the United midfield duo depart, Amorim has identified Eintracht Frankfurt's Larsson as a summer transfer target, according to The Mirror.
With his budget expected to be restricted due to financial constraints, Amorim is going to have to look at younger and less experienced players.
