A landscaper threatened to rape and kill a female police officer and told her he hoped her mother "would die of AIDS". Steven Seagrave launched the "disgusting" tirade of verbal abuse at the officer after he was arrested following a hit-and-run incident in Southampton, Hampshire, late at night July 20.

The 33-year-old spat "copiously" at the female officer and her male colleague, hitting him in the face, eye and forehead. Seagrave, who has been jailed for a year, made a series of shocking threats towards the female officer over an hour-and-a-half, threatening to cut her open, rape her and kill her and her family.
