The victim, 33, was attacked as he was sitting on a Diamond bus at Salford Central railway station on Monday night. Officers from the Transport Unit of Greater Manchester Police were on the scene quickly and arrested three teenagers, all aged 15 and 16.
They were later released although police have issued an appeal to the public for information. Following the attack, officers posted a picture of a blood-spattered seat and appealed for help from the public to bring the attackers to justice for the 'violent assault'.
