Police were called out to Castle Street at around 10pm on Sunday night (June 6) following reports of an assault. Officers attended a property and discovered that a man had suffered a stab wound.
Greater Manchester Police says that the man was taken to hospital with injuries which are believed to be life-changing. He is now in a stable condition.
