Police have issued an appeal after a woman was robbed and attacked on a busy high street in Bolton. The woman was walking down Market Street in Farnworth when she was approached by two people, police said.
A man then tried to snatch her handbag. He attacked her before stealing a while gold chain, officers added. Police are now asking any witnesses of the incident - which happened at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, August 9 - to come forward. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 3.30pm on Wednesday 9 August, police were called to reports of a robbery on Market Street, Bolton. "The victim had been walking down Market Street, Bolton when she was approached by two individuals.
A man made attempts to snatch the victim's handbag before assaulting her and stealing a white gold chain. "Police are now following up a number of lines of enquiry and are in a position to appeal for assistance from members of the public.
