Minshull Street Crown Court heard. Ackers then brandished a kitchen knife with a four inch blade and began waving it at the guard in a ‘slashing motion’.
The next day he went to Farmfoods in Oldham, and began filling a bag with jars of coffee before being stopped by the store manager.
Again he began to pull out the blade from his pocket and threatened the manager, saying: “get the f**k off me or I’m going to knife you.”He walked away with ten jars of coffee worth £40.Staff described feeling ‘petrified’ and ‘terrified’ from the attack.Ackers pleaded guilty to attempted theft, threatening another with a blade, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft and having a bladed article.Today (July 6) he was sentenced to two years.
