Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was slashed in the stomach at Thorpe Park. Police said they were called to an assault close to the exit of the popular theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, shortly before 5pm this afternoon.

Two groups of people were involved in an "altercation" on a bridge which left a man in his 20s with a slash wound to his stomach, police confirmed.

He has been taken to hospital and his condition has been described as serious. No-one else was hurt in the incident, which police say they are not treating as terrorism related.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries at the scene and two men, in their twenties, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
