A man has been left seriously hurt after becoming 'trapped' under a digger that fell from a HGV in Bury. Police officers, fire crews and paramedics were called to Spring Street, near the Asda supermarket, just after 8am this morning (Friday).

Eyewitnesses said the air ambulance also landed nearby. Police said officers responded to a 'workplace accident' while fire crews said they rescued a man who became 'partially trapped' under the digger.

The man suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson added.
