A man is in hospital with serious injuries after an early-morning incident on the A75. Police raced to the stretch of motorway near Cuckoo Bridge in Dumfries at 3.30am today after receiving reports of concern for a person.
On arrival, a man was found seriously injured. He was blue-lighted to the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment, where his current condition is unknown.
A police probe has been launched to establish the full circumstances. The stretch of road between Castle Douglas Road and Glasgow Road remains closed to allow investigations to take place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 3.30am on Saturday, November 12, we were called to a report of a concern for person on the A75, between the Castle Douglas Road and Glasgow Road.
