Man rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' following Greenock attack

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Greenock, police have confirmed.We told how emergency services raced to Banff Road in the town after the alarm was raised at around 2.05pm on Monday, March 28.

Officers have now confirmed that a 34-year-old man was found with serious injuries following an attack on the street. Ambulance crews attended and he was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.His condition is described as "serious but stable".Police have launched an appeal for information following the horror attack.Detective Inspector Nikki Wake of Greenock Police Station said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard any sort of disturbance on Banff Street or in the nearby area on Monday afternoon to get in touch.“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have dashcam or private CCTV footage which could be of use to our investigation.“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1607 of March 29, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
