Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after 'unprovoked' city centre attack

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an 'unprovoked' attack in Glasgow city centre. The incident happened when a 20-year-old man was approached by two other men on Garnet Street, near Sauchiehall Street, between 1.55am and 2.15am today.

Police say the men then proceeded to assault him.The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.One of the two men is described as white, about 5ft 10in tall with short dark hair.He was wearing a blue North Face jacket with black shoulder pads, black trousers and spoke with a Glasgow accent.The second man is described as being white, around 6ft tall, with dirty blonde hair and a beard cut short at the sides and long in the middle.He was wearing dark clothing.Officers say the attack was 'unprovoked' and are urging anyone who may have any information on what happened to get in touch.Enquiries are also ongoing to establish the identities of the two men involved.Detective Constable Larissa Cooper said: “This assault was entirely unprovoked and we are working to identify the other two men involved.“If you have were in the area and saw or heard the incident, or have any other information please come forward.“You can pass on information by calling police on 101, quoting reference 0226 of 12 April, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
