Man rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after attack in Scots village

Police are hunting two men wanted in connection with a serious assault in a West Dunbartonshire village. Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports that a 39-year-old man had suffered a serious head injury in Renton at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, July 12.

The man was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital for treatment. Police believe that the incident, which took place outside the Scotmid store on the village's main street, may have been random.

The suspects police wish to speak to are described as being in their 60s, of medium build with shaved hair and wearing sunglasses.One was wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow logo and carrying a black rucksack and light-coloured carrier bag.

The other man wore a white t-shirt, black shorts and had a lanyard around his neck. He had a white carrier bag. They are believed to have fled in the direction of Renton train station.
