Man rushed to hospital after 'midnight murder bid' on Scots street

Police have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was found seriously injured in a West Lothian street. Officers raced to the scene on Shiel Walk in Livingston at around 12.15am on Sunday October 30, after the 53-year-old was allegedly attacked.

He was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment to his injuries, where medics describe his condition as "serious but stable".

Investigators have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the alleged incident but enquiries into the circumstances remain going.Police are keen to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward.Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank of Livingston Police Station said: “As our enquiries progress I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident take place, or anyone who was in the area at the time who has any information that will assist our investigation.“Anyone with information should contact 101 with reference number 0052 of 30 October.
