Greenock, Inverclyde in broad daylight.The attackers pounced at around lunchtime on Saturday and battered the victim with 'some sort of weapon'.He suffered head and facial injuries and was rushed to the town's Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment.His current condition is yet to be confirmed.Police confirmed that an investigation was underway to trace the callous attackers.Anyone with information or those who witnessed the assault are being asked to come forward.A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Greenock Telegraph: "A 30-year-old male was assaulted with some sort of weapon."He sustained injuries to his head and face and was admitted to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and remains there."It is believed he was attacked by two or three.
