Man pleads guilty to possessing acid after bomb squad scrambled to estate

A man has pleaded guilty to possessing two different types of acid after a raid in Knutsford. A huge emergency response was sparked after a warrant was carried out at an address on Longridge on Monday morning (November 27).

The bomb squad was scrambled to the scene after 'unknown substances' were found and around 110 homes were evacuated as a cordon was put in place.

Ashlea Henderson, of of Longridge, Knutsford, was charged with possessing hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid without a licence.

The 29-year-old was remanded into custody to appear at Cheshire Magistrates' Court this morning.
