Man left with 'life changing injuries' following town centre crash

A man has been left with 'life changing' injuries following a crash in Ashton-in-Makerfield. Emergency services were to reports of RTC between a lorry and pedestrian yesterday (August 15) on Gerard Street at around 11:23am.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and the man was taken to Aintree Hospital with a serious arm injury. Police are continuing their enquiries into the collision and appeal to the public for information that may assist. Read more: A forgotten child in the Greater Manchester flats that are full of fear A Spokesperson for GMP said: “At around 11:23 on Monday 15th August 2022 on Gerard Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield police were called to reports of a Road Traffic Collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

NWAS were also called and a casualty was taken to hospital with what is thought to be life changing injuries. Police are continuing their enquiries into the collision and appeal to the public for information that may assist." A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.20 this morning reports of a male patient in collision with a vehicle.

We sent multiple resources including the air ambulance. He was taken to Aintree hospital with a serious arm injury by land ambulance." Anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage should contact police on 101 quoting incident 1295 15 August 2022.
