Man in hospital with serious injuries after crash between 'two electric bikes'

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash which police suspect involved two electric bikes in Tameside on Sunday (September 4).

The crash happened on Alt Hill Lane, a remote road north of Ashton-under-Lyne. An air ambulance landed on a field nearby as police closed off the road temporarily.

Numerous police vehicles and ambulances were in attendance at the scene at around 2pm. One man was taken to hospital with injuries that are described as 'serious' but not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Greater Manchester Police suspect the crash involved two electronic bikes that did not remain at the scene however this is yet to be confirmed.
