A man from Oldham has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Kulsuma Akter in Bradford. The 27-year-old mum was stabbed to death in broad daylight while pushing her baby in a pram on Saturday (April 6).
Her baby was unharmed, police said. A huge manhunt was launched to find her alleged killer. In an update this morning (April 9), West Yorkshire Police said a man from Oldham has now been arrested arrested on suspicion of murder. Officers thanked members of the public for sharing previous wanted appeals. Both Greater Manchester Police and West Yorkshire Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office of Police Conduct due to 'previous contact' with the victim and the alleged attacker.
A 23-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains in police custody.
