A 34-year-old man has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a serious assault in north Manchester. Greater Manchester Police says the man has suffered serious injuries which are consistent with the use of a bladed article.
It follows reports of a disturbance involving a group of five males on Windsor Road, in Harpurhey, at around 6.15pm yesterday (September 11).
A cordon was in place last night while officers launched an investigation. No arrests have been made so far. Anyone with information or video footage from the attack is being urged to come forward. We are treating this as a targeted attack and I want to reassure the local community that extra uniformed officers have been deployed to the area to carry out enquiries and to provide reassurance. "They will remain in place throughout this evening.
