Man dies after horror crash between car and pedestrian as Scots road sealed off

Cops raced to the A75, between Annan and Dumfries, at around 11:50pm on Sunday, August 29. The alarm was raised following a collision between a pedestrian and a car near the turning for the B7020.

Paramedics rushed to the scene but one man, the pedestrian, could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.The occupants of the car involved in the smash, a Vauxhall Insignia which had been travelling east, were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was sealed off for over seven hours as police launched an investigation into the collision but has since reopened.A Police Scotland said: “Officers were called to the A75 between Annan and Dumfries, close to the turning for the B7020, at around 11.50pm on Sunday, 29 August, 2021.
