Scots cyclist, 35, dies after coming off bike on Aberdeenshire road

Aberdeenshire on Sunday. Emergency services raced to the B9126, Kirkton of Skene, around 2.40pm yesterday after a cyclist came off his bike and onto the side of the road.

Members of the public came to the man's aid and paramedics rushed to the scene but the man sadly could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the road was closed.Police are now keen to trace the driver of a dark coloured 4 x 4 vehicle which was travelling north at the time of the incident.Officers are also urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch.A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inspector Lorraine Mackie, North East Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. .
