Heroic police officers rescued two men from the vehicle, which caught fire, but the passenger, 23, died a short time later in hospital.
The driver, also 23, is in a serious but stable condition in hospital. Police officers in a patrol car were driving past when the crash took place on Trinity Way in Salford at around 3.30am on Sunday.
