Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Manchester City are reportedly ready to 'resume talks' with Raheem Sterling amid interest from La Liga giants Barcelona. Sources are said to have told ESPN that City are keen to resolve the issues regarding his contract before the start of the new season.

In the past, Sterling has commented on his desire to play abroad but a new contract with Pep Guardiola's side should not be ruled out.
Elsewhere, former Manchester City man Douglas Luiz is believed to be happy at Aston Villa and is keen on signing a new contract with the West Midlands club.
