Manchester City are unlikely to see exits on transfer deadline day for homegrown players James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly. Pep Guardiola insisted that McAtee be a part of his squad this season but has admitted that the player has perhaps not had as many minutes as he deserved.
However, the club have pushed back on all interest in McAtee this month and Guardiola wants to keep him for the second half of the campaign.
He said last week: "He's going to stay. We don't have enough players. We have a World Cup at the end of the season. We have a lot of games. "I think he can play more minutes.
There are minutes he has to fight for and continue to fight. I'm really pleased for Macca. "At the same time, maybe an offer arrives where the club say we have to sell him.
