Man City legend Vincent Kompany opens up on how Pep Guardiola helped him 'write his own story'

Manchester City legend and current Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has admitted that Pep Guardiola is the boss that has influenced his footballing philosophy the most.

Kompany spent three of his 11 years at City being coached by Guardiola during which time he won two Premier Leagues, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Community Shield.

Earlier this month, the Belgian returned to the Etihad Stadium for the first time as a manager as his Championship leaders faced the Blues in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.

Unfortunately for Kompany, the return was not a pleasant one on the pitch as Guardiola's side ran away with the tie, winning comfortably 6-0.
