Manchester City have confirmed that a deal has been agreed to bring young defender Yan Couto to the club. City released, but didn't publicise, a statement on Sunday morning prior to the Carabao Cup final victory over Aston Villa that Couto would be making the move to the Etihad in the summer.
The club revealed that the 17-year-old would arrive from Brazilian side Coritiba on a 5-year-deal and that it 'looks forward to welcoming Yan in the summer.' MEN Sport reported that City were working to sign Couto on January transfer deadline day, but there wasn't a rush to get the signing completed as the player is not expected to have an immediate impact in the first-team.
