Man City confirm last gasp deadline departure as £5m deal agreed

Manchester City have confirmed the departure of teenage midfielder Jacob Wright, who has joined Championship side Norwich City in a last gasp deadline day move.

The 19-year-old midfielder had been expected to sign for the Canaries' Championship rivals Swansea City and Wright was in South Wales on Sunday ahead of the move.

However, a move to the Swans collapsed and he has now made the move to Carrow Road on an initial season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy him for £5million.

Speaking after the move, Wright said: "I'm really happy to be here, happy to get everything over the line on time. I'm looking forward to getting into training tomorrow and the games will be coming thick and fast." Wright had made four appearances for City across the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup but was never quite able to force his way into Pep Guardiola's thinking on a regular basis.
