Benfica have confirmed they have sold Ruben Dias to Manchester City - with Nicolas Otamendi going the other way.Central defender Dias will join City in the overall deal, which is worth £65million.

He will cost City around £50m, with Otamendi joining Benfica for a fee in the region of £15m. And the arrival of Dias cannot come soon enough after a shambolic defensive performance as Pep Guardiola's side suffered a 5-2 Premier League defeat to Leicester City on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's failure to replace the departing Vincent Kompany last summer was a big factor in his side falling so far off the pace in their title defence last season, with rivals Liverpool rampaging to the crown.
