Man charged with four attempted murders after family motorhome 'rammed' in Airdrie

A man has appeared in court charged with four attempted murders after a ‘disturbance’ which saw a motorhome allegedly rammed by a tipper truck moments after a 'machete fight'.Robert ‘Bobby’ McPhee appeared in private at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday after being arrested over an incident on the town’s Caldercruix Road on November 4.He faces four charges of attempted murder, two charges of culpable and reckless conduct and a further charge of wilfully or recklessly destroying property belonging to another.The 23-year-old, from Aberdeen, made no plea and has been released on bail with the case against him submitted to prosecutors for further examination.

No date has been set for a future court appearance.Police are continuing to investigate a series of violent incidents, which are believed to be linked, in Airdrie earlier this month.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 23 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance that took place in Caldercruix Road in Airdrie around 3.30pm on Friday, 4 November.“He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 23 November.
