A man who was arrested in connection to a serious assault in Congleton, has now been charged.Robert Higgins was arrested following an assault on Bromley Road on Monday February 20 at 7:23pm.
The 26-year-old, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with section 18 assault, possession of a knife, possession of criminal property and theft from a shop.
He has been remanded in custody following a hearing at Chester Magistates' Court today (Wednesday February 22), and will appear at Chester Crown Court in March. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. In a statement, Cheshire Police said: "A man who was arrested in connection to a serious assault in Congleton, has now been charged.
