Man charged after 'attempted murder' of police officer in Clydebank

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a female police officer in Clydebank.Officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Bannerman Place on Sunday, January 5.

The officer was then struck by the car before the driver fled the scene. She was rushed to hospital for treatment to her injuries and was later released.

Detectives say they are treating the incident as attempted murder.A 27-year-old man was traced, arrested and charged on Friday, February 7.

He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, February 10. A statement from Police Scotland reads: "A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a police officer in Clydebank.
