A man is behind bars after sexually assaulting a "lifeless" woman outside a Motherwell pub. Hamilton Sheriff Court heard Thomas Webb carried out the attack in full view of bar staff and passers-by.

Webb, 33, of Arran Road, Motherwell, admitted assaulting the woman while she was intoxicated and unconscious in the town centre on July 21 last year.He also admitted exposing himself in public.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

She was unsteady on her feet and CCTV shows her staggering."She fell into a nearby doorway and landed on the ground."It was then that Webb sexually assaulted her.This was witnessed by pub staff and others, and someone called the police.
