A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a flat in Tameside remains in police custody. The 51-year-old arrived at a police station in Ashton-under-Lyne after the woman - aged in her 20s - was reported to have died in a property on Manchester Road yesterday morning (Thursday).
He was arrested on suspicion of her murder. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed this morning (Friday) that he remains in custody.

Police said yesterday they were 'keeping an open mind' as investigations continued at the scene. Investigators said they were 'confident' that they did not need to look for any other suspects.
