Police have made an arrest after a man and woman were reportedly 'trying a number of car and house doors' on a street in Eccles.

A man was arrested by officers while attempting to flee the scene on Grange Road on Sunday morning (January 7). He was detained and remains in custody after 'fleeing from a break-in'.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "An adult male has been arrested for Burglary and remains in custody after being detained whilst fleeing from a break-in on Grange Road in Winton, Eccles. "During the early hours of this morning (07/01/2024), the male and an unknown female are believed to have tried a number of car and house doors on Grange Road and the surrounding areas - with the male being detained at 07:00. "Our investigation is ongoing but should you have any CCTV footage or information that may assist, please do get in touch via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously, quoting reference 0661-07012024."
