A man was taken to hospital after a serious assault in Swinton. Police were called to Malcolm Avenue in the town just after 8am on Friday morning following reporters of an incident.

The victim was taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment but his injuries are not said to be life-threatening or life-changing..

"Police are now appealing for anyone with Ring doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage that can assist their investigation to come forward. "Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw a black Audi and white VW Golf acting suspiciously in the area at the time."
