A man has been arrested following a crash which left a cyclist with potentially life-changing injuries. Police were called to Rufford in Lancashire to reports of a collision involving a Renault Clio and a cyclist at around 1.40pm on Sunday (April 3).
Both men were travelling in the same direction along Red Cat Lane, towards Curlew Lane. The cyclist – a man aged in his 70s – was taken to hospital by air ambulance with several broken bones and fractures.
His injuries are described as potentially life-changing. Two passengers in the Clio – girls aged 11 – suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for around three hours while collision investigators attended.
